Studio Egret West has submitted plans for its Northlake project, a new neighbourhood in the Lakeside basin, Thurrock.
Working for London Strategic Land, the scheme comprises of 2,500 dwellings located in and around a linear park that works with existing ecological habitats to create a holistic landscape.
The proposals intend to establish a “highly liveable community where wildlife focused areas and people focused areas are balanced and mutually beneficial”. A lake with a lido, a woodland park with mountain bike trails and open mosaic grassland all form parts of the design
Detailed approval is sought for 342 dwellings; a linear park; a lido facility; 3km of mountain bike routes with a national standard pump track; and a plethora of public realm improvements.
Outline approval is sought for up to 2158 dwellings; a new primary / nursery school; community pavilion; retail; public art together with open space, landscape and public realm provision.
Studio Egret West will be the urban designers, architects and landscape architects for the scheme.
