Landscape architect Gillespies’ Hale office has supported the submission of the Reserved Matters planning application for over 300 homes at Leicester Waterside for Keepmoat Homes, in partnership with landowner Leicester City Council.
The scheme is one of the city mayor’s priorities, and is “sensitively located” on the city’s river and canal just five minutes’ walk from the city centre. The design includes three parks/green spaces and a high quality shared surface street. Gillespies’ output has included a design code and green infrastructure strategy.
A statement by the group read: “Gillespies continues to support Keepmoat in taking designs towards Reserved Matters applications. Working closely with the city council, this role includes the development of a design code and detailed landscape design for new streets, spaces and gardens.
“The scheme is due on site in 2017 and has the potential to be one of the most exciting large-scale regeneration developments in the East Midlands.”
