Scotts UK has announced that Mark Portman has been appointed as UK and Ireland general manager.
Portman replaces Sheila Hill, who left the business last month after starting at Scotts back in 1996, becoming general manager in 2015.
Porter had been at Gardman since August 2017 as group sales director. Prior to that role, he spent more than seven years at Henkel, where he was GM for UK, Ireland and the Nordics.
Previously, he has also performed a series of increasingly senior sales roles at Premier Foods where he was for 8 years, before which he was at New Covent Garden Soup.
Karl Kahofer, CEO of Scotts UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mark to our company. He brings a wealth of relevant experience, an impressive track record of delivering results and a demonstrated focus on building company culture.
“His category experience with Gardman and his experience of working with our largest UK customers will also stand him in good stead. He will make a big difference to our UK business.
“Mark will join us at the latest beginning of April and until then the UK team will continue to report to Ted Linehan on an interim basis.”
